MAD10
Collecting a Fluorescence MAD Scan and collect some data
- Put the metallic
cover to MAR225CCD
- Check that
the cover has been removed from the C-TRAIN II detector.
- Keep the Cryo
distance to no less than 6mm
- You should be
logged on bl10vig1
- You
should have the GUI open
in front of you
- Click
on EXAFS tab, and then SET UP tab
- You
will see this (click on the picture to enlarge)

- Select
the edge of interest by clicking on the actual symbol

- You
will see that "Start, End, time, Steps" field are updated.
- Move
the beamstop away to 40.00 mm.
- Before
scanning you may want to optimise
pitch of the second crystal to maximize the flux.
- Open
the shutter on the MARCCD GUI, by clicking on shutter and
selecting Open.

- Click
on START SCAN
from
the GUI.
- The
window will immediately refresh to the scan window.
- When the scan is 100% complete Close the shutter
from MARCCD GUI, by clicking on shutter and selecting Close.
- When the scan is complete write down the Bragg
(mDeg) values for the peak, remote and edge wavelengths from the scan.
- Select MONO GENERAL in OEMove

- Enter the chosen value in Bragg to select
your wavelength, (highlighted in RED in the picture above) and click on Move
Mono. Now your wavelength is set.
- Input the correct value for the wavelength on
the MARCCD software.
- Optimise pitch of the second crystal to maximize
the flux.
- Optimise the DTB ion chambers.
- Collect your data set.
